The Regional Political Development Manager will recruit well-qualified and principled individuals to run for public office to help advance better public policy. Working alongside key stakeholders, this position will develop strategies and relationships to build a talent pipeline of aligned candidates who will be public policy champions in office.
What You Will Do:
- Identify and recruit candidates for public office that will help advance the organization’s vision and public policy objectives.
- Partner with state chapter leadership to understand the local political landscape and develop a strategy to target critical public office seats.
- Build relationships with aligned prospective candidates and encourage them to run for elected office.
- Connect prospective candidates and key stakeholders to AFP’s vision for public policy change.

- The ability to quickly build rapport with prospective candidates and leverage those relationships.
- A willingness to travel approximately 30% of your time.
