Job Description
Responsibilities Include
- Exceptional writing and editing skills: Impeccable knowledge of grammar and attention to detail.
- Leadership throughout the editing process: Must have both confidence and tact as content works through a complicated editing process. To be successful, they must have an approach that both drives results but also exhibits passion and coaching.
- Being a principles-driven supervisor: Demonstrate the aptitude to operate within our complex organization as a supervisor. This requires unique skills such as entrepreneurship, and the ability to coach employees to maximize their potential.
- The ideal candidate will be a seasoned editorial professional with a deep understanding of donor communications and fundraising strategies. Have a proven ability to lead and inspire a team, ensuring the highest standards of quality and consistency in all content.
- A strategic thinker, able to translate complex organizational goals into compelling narratives that resonate with high-dollar donors.
- Partner with email, web, and print content channel owners to track key metrics to benchmark and improve Stand Together’s engagement and brand positioning; identify and assess opportunities suggested by data when adapting strategy.
- Edit a variety of content including partnership proposals, marketing and campaign collateral, email and print correspondence, speeches, and stewardship reports ensuring all products reflect organizational brand, voice, and messaging.
Knowledge and Skills You Bring to the Organization
- A minimum of 10 years in editing high-profile content, particularly in journalism, media, or communications.
- At least 4 years in a leadership role, demonstrating the ability to build and manage a dynamic team of content creators.
- Proven track record in creating and editing donor-facing content, with experience in fundraising communications.
- Excellence in writing and editing.
