Stand Together seeks a Tax Manager to manage tax and informational return preparation, ensure tax compliance of major transactions and structures, as well as handle various state and federal regulatory reporting for 20+ non-profit and for-profit entities. This role will provide the opportunity to work with several internal teams and organizations, and will collaborate closely with our accounting and finance teams as well as a vendor in the preparation of these filings.

This role will be working directly with multiple teams to ensure accurate tax reporting, filing, and compliance.
How You Will Contribute
- Review transfer pricing structures between legal entities and the related underlying transactions to ensure optimal compliance and that financial goals are met
- Develop tax planning strategies in conjunction with the group's director and legal team
- Review and collaborate with the internal team and external firm(s) to ensure accurate preparation of Forms 990, 990-T, and 990PF and related schedules for multiple exempt organizations in collaboration and coordination with an outside accounting firm
- Review and collaborate with internal team and external firm(s) to ensure accurate preparation of forms 1120 and 1065 and related schedules for multiple for-profit entities in collaboration and coordination with an outside accounting firm
- Research and understand applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards to effectively mitigate risk for the organization and maintain 100% compliance
- Work with an outside accounting firm to understand year-over-year changes in tax return data and be able to explain variances to stakeholders
- Assist with estimated tax payments, projections, and other metric calculations
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency within the organization
What You Will Bring
- 5-7 years of experience in federal income tax, preferably with 1+ years in assurance and/or outsourced accounting
- Ability to track many hard deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience coordinating information across different people, teams, and systems with a high attention to detail
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Experience with accounting reconciliations and researching transaction details
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Standout Candidates Will Bring
- Nonprofit tax accounting experience
- Public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge or experience working with Sage Intacct or similar ERP Accounting Software
- Knowledge of estate and trust returns a plus
- CPA preferred
